
BJP Mira-Bhayandar Organises Emergency Remembrance Meeting, Honours Witnesses of the 1975 Emergency
As part of the remembrance of the Emergency (1975–77), described by the BJP as one of the darkest chapters in India’s democratic history, a special programme was organised at the BJP Mira-Bhayandar District Office. The meeting honoured individuals who witnessed the Emergency and provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of safeguarding democracy, constitutional values, and fundamental rights.
The programme was held under the leadership of Shri Narendra Mehta Ji and in the presence of District President Shri Dilip Jain Ji. The gathering was also attended by Maharashtra BJP State Secretary and Mira-Bhayandar In-charge Shri Santosh Janathe Ji, Group Leader Shri Hasmukh Gehlot Ji, Programme Convenor Shri Jatashankar Pandey Ji, General Secretaries Shri Gyanendra Singh Ji, Shri Brijesh Tiwari Ji and Smt. Rajeshwari Sharma Ji, Mahila Morcha President Smt. Vaishali Bhoir Ji, Yuva Morcha President Shri Ranveer Vajpayee Ji, Co-convenors Smt. Sarita Harpale Ji and Shri Sushil Tripathi Ji, along with corporators, district office bearers, morcha presidents, mandal presidents, and party karyakartas.
The meeting reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to preserving democratic institutions, raising public awareness about the Emergency period, and strengthening the values of democracy, good governance, and national unity.
